Common NameCyanidin 3-glucogalactoside
DescriptionCyanidin 3-glucogalactoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as anthocyanidin-3-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing one anthocyanidin moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to a carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. Cyanidin 3-glucogalactoside is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, cyanidin 3-glucogalactoside has been detected, but not quantified in, carrots and wild carrots. This could make cyanidin 3-glucogalactoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
