| Description | Myricetin 3-(6-acetylgalactoside) belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-3-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. Myricetin 3-(6-acetylgalactoside) is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Myricetin 3-(6-acetylgalactoside) has been detected, but not quantified in, several different foods, such as green vegetables, herbs and spices, pulses, and tea. Myricetin 3-(6-acetylgalactoside) is found in Nymphaea odorata. Myricetin 3-(6-acetylgalactoside) was first documented in 2000 (LYFoo, et al.). This could make myricetin 3-(6-acetylgalactoside) a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. |
