Description | 4,7-Dimethoxy-5-methyl-2H-1,3-benzodioxole belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzodioxoles. These are organic compounds containing a benzene ring fused to either isomers of dioxole. Dioxole is a five-membered unsaturated ring of two oxygen atoms and three carbon atoms. 4,7-dimethoxy-5-methyl-l,3- benzodioxole is found in Taiwanofungus camphoratus. It was first documented in 1995 (Hung-Chen, et al.). 4,7-Dimethoxy-5-methyl-2H-1,3-benzodioxole is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
