Description6-[(2R,4R)-2-butyl-4-hydroxy-5-oxooxolan-2-yl]-4-methoxy-2H-pyran-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyranones and derivatives. Pyranones and derivatives are compounds containing a pyran ring which bears a ketone. scirpyrone A is found in Pestalotiopsis scirpina. scirpyrone A was first documented in 2012 (Li, J., et al.). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 6-[(2R,4R)-2-butyl-4-hydroxy-5-oxooxolan-2-yl]-4-methoxy-2H-pyran-2-one.
