Description | (AlphaS,4S)-alpha,3,8-Trimethyl-2-oxo-4beta,8alpha,8aalpha-trihydroxy-1,2,4,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydroazulene-5alpha-acetic acid 5,4-lactone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as gamma butyrolactones. Gamma butyrolactones are compounds containing a gamma butyrolactone moiety, which consists of an aliphatic five-member ring with four carbon atoms, one oxygen atom, and bears a ketone group on the carbon adjacent to the oxygen atom. 1beta(R),10bet(S)-diol-isophotosantonin is found in Artemisia gorgonum. 1beta(R),10bet(S)-diol-isophotosantonin was first documented in 2012 (Macias, F. A., et al.). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (alphaS,4S)-alpha,3,8-Trimethyl-2-oxo-4beta,8alpha,8aalpha-trihydroxy-1,2,4,5,6,7,8,8a-octahydroazulene-5alpha-acetic acid 5,4-lactone. |
