Description lotusine is found in Nelumbo nucifera, Phellodendron amurense , Plumula nelumbensis, Tiliacora racemosa colebr. and Xylopia parviflora . It was first documented in 2005 (Yang, J.). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1R)-6-hydroxy-1-[(4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl]-7-methoxy-2,2-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-2-ium.
