Description latifolol is found in Gnetium latifolium, Gnetum gnemon , Gnetum klossii, Gnetum latifolium and Spirotropis longifolia. latifolol was first documented in 2002 (Iiya, I, et al.). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 4-[(2S,3S)-3-(3,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-4-hydroxy-6-[(2S,3S)-4-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-6-[(E)-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-3-yl]-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-2-yl]benzene-1,3-diol.
