Description | 4-Methoxy-3-methyl-6-[(E)-2-phenylethenyl]-2H-pyran-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as kavalactones. These are lactones, which is structurally characterized by a benzene ring and a pyranone moiety, linked to each other to form a 4-methoxy-6-(2-phenylethyl)-2H-pyran-2-one skeleton. Penstyrylpyrone is found in Penicillium. Penstyrylpyrone was first documented in 2013 (PMID: 23612372). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 4-methoxy-3-methyl-6-[(E)-2-phenylethenyl]-2H-pyran-2-one. |
