Description7-Methoxy-4-(methoxymethyl)-6-methyl-1,3-dihydro-2-benzofuran-1-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phthalides. Phthalides are compounds containing a 3-hydrocarbylidene-2-benzofuran-1(3H)-one moiety,. 4-(methoxymethyl)-7-methoxy-6-methyl-1(3H)-isobenzofuranone is found in Penicillium. 4-(methoxymethyl)-7-methoxy-6-methyl-1(3H)-isobenzofuranone was first documented in 2013 (PMID: 23581456). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 7-methoxy-4-(methoxymethyl)-6-methyl-1,3-dihydro-2-benzofuran-1-one.
