Description6'-Hydroxygriseofulvin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzofurans. These are organic compounds containing a benzene ring fused to a furan. Furan is a five-membered aromatic ring with four carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. 6’-hydroxygriseofulvin is found in Nigrospora sp. MA75. 6’-hydroxygriseofulvin was first documented in 2012 (PMID: 22782879). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 6'-hydroxygriseofulvin.
