DescriptionMelanostatin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as oligopeptides. These are organic compounds containing a sequence of between three and ten alpha-amino acids joined by peptide bonds. Melanostatin is found in Streptomyces and Streptomyces clavifer. Melanostatin was first documented in 1991 (PMID: 1672125). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Melanostatin.
