Description(3AS,5aR,6S)-6-hydroxy-3a-(hydroxymethyl)-1-[(2S)-1-hydroxypropan-2-yl]-5a-methyl-2H,3H,3aH,4H,5H,5aH,6H,7H-cyclohepta[e]indene-8-carbaldehyde belongs to the class of organic compounds known as diterpenoids. These are terpene compounds formed by four isoprene units. Sarcodonin I is found in Sarcodon scabrosus. It was first documented in 2005 (PMID: 16028205). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (3aS,5aR,6S)-6-hydroxy-3a-(hydroxymethyl)-1-[(2S)-1-hydroxypropan-2-yl]-5a-methyl-2H,3H,3aH,4H,5H,5aH,6H,7H-cyclohepta[e]indene-8-carbaldehyde.
