Naphthopyranones are compounds containing a naphthopyran skeleton where a ring carbon bears a carboxylic acid group. Naphthtopyran is made up of the pyran ring fused to a naphthalene ring system. Euplectin is found in Flavoparmelia euplecta. Euplectin was first documented in 2000 (PMID: 10650094). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 8,17-dihydroxy-4-methyl-3-oxatetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹²,¹⁶]Heptadeca-1,4,7,9,11,13,16-heptaene-6,15-dione.
