Description3-[(2R)-2,3-dihydroxypropyl]-8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-1H-isochromen-1-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as isocoumarins and derivatives. These are polycyclic compounds containing an isochromane which bears a ketone at the carbon C1. Diaportinol is found in Penicillium nalgiovense. Diaportinol was first documented in 1999 (PMID: 10479334). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 3-[(2R)-2,3-dihydroxypropyl]-8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-1H-isochromen-1-one.
