Description4-Hydroxy-6-[2-(8-hydroxy-2-methyl-1,2,6,7,8,8a-hexahydronaphthalen-1-yl)ethyl]oxan-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as delta valerolactones. These are cyclic organic compounds containing an oxan-2- one moiety. ML-236A is found in Penicillium, Penicillium citrinum, Penicillium citrinum SANK 18767 and Penicillium javanicum. ML-236A was first documented in 1976 (PMID: 1010803). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 4-hydroxy-6-[2-(8-hydroxy-2-methyl-1,2,6,7,8,8a-hexahydronaphthalen-1-yl)ethyl]oxan-2-one.
