Description5-[(1R,2Z,4E)-1-hydroxyhexa-2,4-dien-1-yl]oxolan-2-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as fatty alcohols. These are aliphatic alcohols consisting of a chain of a least six carbon atoms. Sapinofuranone B is found in Sphaeropsis and Sphaeropsis sapinea. It was first documented in 1999 (PMID: 10075753). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5-[(1R,2Z,4E)-1-hydroxyhexa-2,4-dien-1-yl]oxolan-2-one.
