DescriptionAustralian wine (Casella wineries, NSW and East) Red wine, deep red color with bright purple hues Full-bodied, smooth, rich, vibrant wine, easy drinking Spice, cloves, chocolate, oak, liquorice and black currant aromas with bold and bright flavours of red and black berries and smooth vanilla, balanced with earthy tones and soft, ripe fruit sweetness Sugar content 10 g/L (dry), 13.5% alcohol Syrah/Shiraz is the offspring of two obscure grapes from southeastern France, Dureza and Mondeuse Blanche Shiraz is grown all over the planet and is the 7th most widely grown red wine grape in the world. The flavor will vary depending upon the weather and the soil where the grapes are grown. Moderate climates tend to produce medium to full-bodied wines with medium to high levels of tannins and notes of blackberry, mint and black pepper. In hot climates (such as Australia), shiraz is more consistently full-bodied with softer tannin, jammier fruit and spice notes of licorice, anise and leather. Rating 84/100 for 2017 vintage
