Description5-Hydroxy-7-methoxy-6-methyl-3H-2-benzofuran-1-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phthalides. Phthalides are compounds containing a 3-hydrocarbylidene-2-benzofuran-1(3H)-one moiety,. 5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-6-methyl-3h-2-benzofuran-1-one is found in Alternaria porri, Aspergillus duricaulis, Aspergillus silvaticus and Aspergillus desertorum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5-Hydroxy-7-methoxy-6-methyl-3H-2-benzofuran-1-one.
