Description3-{[3,4-Dihydroxy-4-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]oxy}-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxy-4H-chromen-4-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 7-o-methylated flavonoids. These are flavonoids with methoxy groups attached to the C7 atom of the flavonoid backbone. 3-{[3,4-dihydroxy-4-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]oxy}-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxychromen-4-one is found in Ageratina calophylla. 3-{[3,4-Dihydroxy-4-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]oxy}-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxy-4H-chromen-4-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
