| Common Name | {8-[5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-3-yl]-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-4-oxochromen-7-yl}oxidanesulfonic acid |
|---|
| Description | {8-[5,7-Dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-3-yl]-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-4-oxo-4H-chromen-7-yl}oxidanesulfonic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyrroloindoles. Pyrroloindoles are compounds containing a pyrroloindole moiety, which is a tricyclic heterocycle which consists of a pyrrole ring fused to an indole. Pyrrole is 5-membered ring consisting of four carbon atoms and one nitrogen atom. Indole is a bicyclic compound consisting of a six-membered benzene ring fused to a five-membered nitrogen-containing pyrrole ring. {8-[5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1-benzopyran-3-yl]-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-4-oxochromen-7-yl}oxidanesulfonic acid is found in Garcinia portoricensis. {8-[5,7-Dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4-oxo-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-3-yl]-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-hydroxy-4-oxo-4H-chromen-7-yl}oxidanesulfonic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
