Description(20R,22R)-20,22-dihydroxycholesterol, also known as 20alpha,22beta-dihydroxycholesterol or (20R,22R)-cholest-5-ene-3beta,20,22-triol, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as trihydroxy bile acids, alcohols and derivatives. These are prenol lipids structurally characterized by a bile acid or alcohol which bears three hydroxyl groups. 20,22-dihydroxycholesterol is found in Mus musculus. Thus, (20R,22R)-20,22-dihydroxycholesterol is considered to be a sterol lipid molecule (20R,22R)-20,22-dihydroxycholesterol is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
