| Description | Norwedelic acid, also known as norwedelate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 2-arylbenzofuran flavonoids. These are phenylpropanoids containing the 2-phenylbenzofuran moiety. 5,6-Dihydroxy-2-(2',4',6'-trihydroxyphenyl)benzofuran-3-carboxylic acid is found in Sphagneticola calendulacea, Wedelia acapulcensis and Wedelia calendulacea . Norwedelic acid is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. |
