Common NameRishitinol
DescriptionRishitinol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as tetralins. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a tetralin moiety, which consists of a benzene fused to a cyclohexane. Rishitinol is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Rishitinol has been detected, but not quantified in, alcoholic beverages and potato. Rishitinol is found in Boeremia exigua, Phytophthora infestans and Solanum demissum. This could make rishitinol a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
