| Description | 2,4,10,14-Tetrahydroxy-7,7,12-trimethylpentacyclo[13.3.1.0⁵,¹⁸.0⁸,¹⁷.0¹¹,¹⁶]Nonadeca-1(18),2,4,8,10,12,14,16-octaene-6,19-dione belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phenanthrols. Phenanthrols are compounds containing a phenanthrene (or its hydrogenated derivative) to which a hydroxyl group is attached. Heliomycin is found in Streptomyces canus, Streptomyces corchorusii, Streptomyces griseoincarnatus, Streptomyces resistomycificus, Streptomyces robefuscus and Streptomyces variabilis. Heliomycin was first documented in 1985 (PMID: 2579053). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 2,4,10,14-tetrahydroxy-7,7,12-trimethylpentacyclo[13.3.1.0⁵,¹⁸.0⁸,¹⁷.0¹¹,¹⁶]Nonadeca-1(18),2,4,8,10,12,14,16-octaene-6,19-dione. |
