Description(4E)-3-methoxy-4-methyl-5-(2-methyl-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)pent-4-enoic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as medium-chain fatty acids. These are fatty acids with an aliphatic tail that contains between 4 and 12 carbon atoms. Methoxycarboxylic acid 42 is found in Sorangium cellulosum. It was first documented in 2001 (PMID: 11473410). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (4E)-3-methoxy-4-methyl-5-(2-methyl-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)pent-4-enoic acid.
